Last fall I was approached by a reporter from the New York City News Service in the United States who stated:
Following the recent decision by the Smithsonian Institute to make its 137-million object collection available online, I am writing an article discussing the issues surround online learning and accessibility -- how the internet bridges the divide between institution and audience. I recently attended the 7th EDEN Open Classroom Conference in Porto. There, I had the pleasure of hearing Bjørn Teistung's interesting presentation on Globalskolen, an online primary school for Norwegian children living abroad. The school provides education in three particular Norwegian subjects that are not available in the international schools most of these children go to. The subjects are Norwegian, Social Studies and Religion & Ethics. Globalskolen now has 1000 pupils from 1st to 10th grade living in 90 different countries.
